Flocked with locals and visitors, alike, Big Boy’s Main Street Cook-Off is a culinary showcase of Cajun cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients found along the bayou. In a two-block area of historic downtown Thibodaux, Big Boy’s takes place each year as the kick-off event of the Thibodeauxville Fall Festival weekend. This year it’s bigger and better than ever with 40 teams cooking up items like shrimp & grits, jambalaya boulettes and charbroiled oysters, it’s one of the bayou’s best kept secrets. Kicking off in 2001, the cook-off attracts over 5000 attendees in the lively nightlife district of downtown Thibodaux. With a stage set up for local entertainment, tents lining the inner streets and unique Louisiana fare being served in every direction you look, it’s the best block party next to Mardi Gras. Bringing back the best – Nonc Nu and da Wild Matous.
